Night Guards
The stress of the world today has increased the incidence of problems associated with the temporomandibular
joint. If you experience unexplained headaches, tenderness of the jaw, or pain of the jaw or neck, a night
guard may alleviate these symptoms. A night guard is an appliance similiar to a retainer that opens the bite
and controls grinding and clenching of the teeth at night. We would be happy to schedule an appointment to
discuss symptoms you are having related to the TMJ.
Sealants
This effective preventative procedure seals the pits and groves of the molar teeth. This is applied to the
teeth of children soon after the eruption of the molars to help prevent decay. Most insurace plans cover
this beneficial treatment.
Flouride
Children should be receiving fluoride as a supplement in the water they drink or in fluoride tablets.
Many water supplies in this area are fluoridated, which provides a good source of fluoride for strong
tooth development. For water supplies that are not fluoridated, such as wells, we will provide you with
a prescription for fluoride tablets for your children. Again our emphasis is on prevention.
