Hygiene Notes

Our office feels that your best protection against cavities and gum disease is the conscientious use of a soft toothbrush and floss. This combined with routine professional care is very important. Any toothpaste that has fluoride and is approved by the ADA is appropriate.

Fluoride is beneficial for your teeth in several ways. It helps to strengthen teeth while they are developing. Fluoridated water is the primary source of dietary fluoride. If your water supply is not fluoridated your children may need a fluoride supplement. Bottled spring water is now available with fluoride added. We recommend a topical fluoride treatment as part of the regular hygiene visits every 6 months for children under the age of 18.
